Dear Members,
Greetings from Brno! While writing this I am participating in the International Presidents’ meeting in Brno, Czech Republic. The IPM is a bi-annual statutory meeting of ELSA International in which 70 presidents grather from the respected national groups around Europe. I would like to provide an overview of our journey in Prague, before the IPM.

Before arriving to Brno we spent a few nights in Prague. We were hosted by ELSA Czech Republic, I would like to thank them for their efforts in making our stay such an amazing experience! Prague is the city to see as its one of the oldest European cities and has a rich history. We visited several cultural heritage sites such as the Old Castle of Prague where lies the second largest cathedral in Europe St.Vitus. And we obviously party too!! The night life in Prague is really something to experience. Parties would last untili the morning and the prices are ridiculously low in comparison to our beloved Finland.

On Wednesday we arrived to Brno (quite an interesting pronunciation btw) which is the second largest city in the country. It’s always amazing to see all the people that you have been missing since the last international event and this spring it was especially nice to arrive since we have more than 70 participants which is the biggest IPM so far! The agenda is packed and the matters discussed are important but on the other hand the social programme is crazy. We’ve already had sightseeing around the city and excursion in a brewery which included some beer tasting. Additionally parties have been awesome! We’ve had theme parties like 90’s and ABC (anything but clothes) which continued in local clubs.

While writing to you, I’m sitting in a workshop discussing new regulation concerning the name changes to be made in the local associations. Furthermore, we have other important matters such as jurisdiction of ELSA International and certain tax related issues to discuss. Workshops aim to make a proposal to the International Council Meeting which will be held in March in Malta.
We always take some freshers with us to the international meetings. Meetings are a great place to get to know the association and find out about the international possibilities during your studies. If you are interested in taking on the journey of your life with ELSA, don’t hesitate to ask us for advice!
With ELSA love,
Jarl-Johan Héde
